semi-protect. Medium level of IP vandalism. People change every day the charts page and we have to undo everytime the edits- it would be nice, if you could semi-protect it.Olliyeah (talk) 16:35, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Temporary Full-protection - An edit war exists with one tendentious, hostile, uncivil editor refusing to debate the issues, ignoring consensus, making daily reverts, and editing in poorly sourced material that attacks the subject's ethics and character. ► RATEL ◄ 15:51, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Semi-protected -- zzuuzz (talk) 12:06, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Semi-protection - An edit war seems to be on the verge of brewing again with this article, and thus, I think it should be semi-protected (for maybe a month like last time) before it really starts getting out of hand. I've pleaded that proper discussions take place before any full-scale edits are made, but one particular person seems to be ignoring this and also engaging in possible sockpuppetry using various anonymous IPs. I will be filing a sockpuppetry report on this person. In the meantime, though, I ask that semi-protection please be given before this situation gets out of hand again. Thank you. -- Luke4545 (talk) 02:08, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Declined Both users warned about violating 3RR. PeterSymonds (talk) 07:10, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

- APPEAL - As I said previously, I urged the person behind the IP to engage fully in discussions BEFORE going through with any full-scale edits; however, the user continuously made those unconstructive/unnecessary full-scale edits without waiting until any conclusions/compromises were laid out. I think this is extremely important to understand as to the reasoning behind why I made those reversions. There was a similar situation that occurred a couple of months ago between me and another user in the same article, and the administrators that handled that situation seemed to factor in that concept; thus, 3RR-based blocks were not issued following cases that were filed. I'm not saying that every single administrator should act the same way, but I think this is significant to note. Once semi-protection was granted in the previous situation, that other user finally engaged in full discussions, and a constructive resolution was soon reached. That's what I was hoping for in this situation as well. I hope you'll now understand where I'm coming from. Thanks. -- Luke4545 (talk) 11:40, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Declined - semi-protection is not used against edit wars. Stifle (talk) 14:40, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Current requests for unprotection
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you do want a page that exists unprotected, please try and ask the protecting admin first before making a request here. This is also not the place to dispute a protection.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
All templates are protected due to dispute and edit warring, but said dispute has been settled. --Otav347 (talk) 14:47, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Protected redlink, should probably redirect to either wannabe or poser, the English equivalents of the French -- Kendrick7talk 07:18, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Current requests for significant edits to a protected page
- When making requests here, either:
- Provide a good reason for a substantial edit to a protected page. These are only done in exceptional circumstances, or when there is very clear consensus for an edit and continued protection. Please link to the talk page where consensus was reached.
- Demonstrate that there is a clear dispute over a protected page, and that a specific dispute tag would be appropriate to add. Please link to the talk page where the dispute exists.
Note: Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page if you would like an inconsequential change rather than requesting it here, though most of these should simply wait for unprotection. See also: Category:Wikipedia protected edit requests
Please courtesy blank the above two pages, both of which are fully protected, per OTRS #2008051310027978. Thank you. Paul Yeratz (talk) 10:19, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Fulfilled/denied requests
temporary semi-protection , Anonymous / new users keep changing the "celebrity" template to "actor" template, despite them being reverted by myself and other editors..~~ [Jam][talk] 09:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Fully protected for a period of 4 days. After 4 days the page will be automatically unprotected. That's edit warring, not vandalism, so semi-protection (which would "lock out" just one side of the edit war) isn't appropriate. Stifle (talk) 10:37, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection non-stop vandalism coming from various ips. Perhaps a long-time protection could do if I am asking for too much. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 02:23, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Declined – There is not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection at this time. If there's significantly more disruptive activity in the future, consider relisting. However, the user himself may request indefinite semi-protection if he wishes. Stifle (talk) 10:45, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

semi-protect. On Wikipedia's front page news. High level of IP vandalism. --AI009 (talk) 06:08, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Declined The main page articles get a higher level of vandalism because of their visibility. The vandalism looks slow at the moment and is being quickly reverted. I see no need to protect at this time. PeterSymonds (talk) 06:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Temporary Semi-Protection - The page is being vandalized day after day. It would be good to protect it until the show ends on Monday, because until then, there will be a lot of vandalizing. --Yankeesrj12 (talk) 03:07, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
