This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, semi-protected, move-protected or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:

Semi-protect - This is a BLP, and his son was recently arrested on suspicion of murder. Anons are trying to insert salacious information about the son on the father's article. 23:22, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Temporary full protection vandalism, Rapid and repeated vandalism in a short time period..Teddks (talk) 22:58, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Temporary full protection , This is subject to the placement of false information, as to make this person look better. It does have some commonly mistaken information, that is reverted in a heartbeat from correction, as if some people want others to think better of him. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against him. I just hate false information..JRH95 (talk) 22:45, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Temporary full protection vandalism, Prone to vandalism and purposely placed false information..JRH95 (talk) 22:43, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

semi-protect for 2 weeks. High level of IP vandalism. Thanks Angelo De La Paz (talk) 22:20, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Semi-protection vandalism. I'm not sure for how long, but currently, 57 of the 62 edits in the last 6 months have been either edits removing the solution (counting as vandalism), or edits reverting those changes. The vandalism is not heavy, but it sure is dense. ZtObOr 22:20, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Full protection content dispute. I request that the page be protected until content disputes can be settled in the talk page. --vi5in[talk] 21:31, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you do want a page that exists unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Unprotection , Was protected as sub judice - it is no longer. [1].Scott Mac (Doc) 16:11, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Unprotection Page was protected by an administrator who was under the impression that there was an edit war between myself and another editor that first needed to be resolved. The other editor in question turned out to be a sockpuppeteer; his accounts are now blocked. Administrator recommended I request article unprotection here. Middayexpress (talk) 02:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Note: Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like an inconsequential change rather than requesting it here, though most of these should simply wait for unprotection.

Semi-protection Edit war over (among other things) the use of an image. Anon has begun to make same reversions of image when registered user has reached the 3RR. Semi protection would confine the edits to registered users only, and perhaps may lead to the editor discussing this on the talk page. Rossrs (talk) 13:09, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
