According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.4 km²), all of it land.
As of the census1 of 2000, there were 772 people, 267 households, and 191 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,398.4 people per square mile (541.9/km²). There were 289 housing units at an average density of 523.5/sq mi (202.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.17% White, 2.46% African American, 0.13% Asian, 0.78% from other races, and 2.46% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.46% of the population.
There were 267 households out of which 36.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.7% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.07.
