The Hotel Sofitel Chicago Water Tower in Illinois gained a GreenLeafTM Eco-Rating Program for Hotels from Audubon International. This certificate is given to those hotels who work with Audubon International to create a place that conserves energy and materials and tries to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
The chain operates 90 hotels in Europe, of which 88 are in the European Union (the only two outside are in Switzerland).
