The Samoan Islands or Samoa Islands (formerly referred to as Navigators' Islands) is an archipelago covering 3,030 km² in the central South Pacific, forming part of the Polynesia region. Its population is approximately 250,000 persons, sharing a common language, Samoan, and culture, the fa'asamoa. As of today, politically there are two jurisdictions on the islands:
