Geoffrey Rowland (right)

Geoffrey Robert Rowland is the current Bailiff of Guernsey (since 2005).¹ He is married to Diana and has two sons, Peter and John. Called to the English Bar at Gray's Inn 1970 & to the Guernsey Bar 1971. In practice as an Advocate of the Royal Court 1971 - 1992. Held office of H M Comptroller (Solicitor General) 1992 - 1999, and H M Procureur (Attorney General) 1999 - 2002. H M Receiver General 1999 - 2002. Deputy Bailiff 2002 - 2005. Appointed Queen's Counsel in 1993. Fellow of the Society of Advanced Legal Studies 2001. Honorary Bencher of Gray's Inn 2008 - to date. Honorary Doctorate of Laws Bournemouth University 2006. President Court of Appeal Guernsey 2005 - to date. Judge of Court of Appeal Jersey 2005 - to date.
